Itinerary

Day 2

Your guide will pick you up for a 4 hours private walking tour of Athens with Acropolis. A good thing to know is that we will assign you one of our best guides, who, besides the passion and knowledge he/she shares, he is also an archaeologist and you will enjoy your day to the fullest!

Day 3

Pick up by your guide and start your private wine tour to the Peloponnese.

We will firstly stop at Corinth Canal and then head on to in Argos and the spectacular Skouras Domain where you will take a tour in the domain. You will wine taste and if you wish, you can buy some labels. After your wine tour is over, you will head to Nafplion (the first capital of Greece). Visit the castle, have lunch (at supplement), maybe a cup of coffee, some gelato ice-cream and in the evening, start driving back to Athens.

Day 4

Departure transfer to the port.

Embark on the ferry to the island of Naxos (around 4 hours journey)

Upon arrival in Naxos, meet and transfer to your hotel. Meet by your Antelope Travel concierge and check in your rooms.

Day 5

This day we will do a cooking class!

Starting from your hotel we first head to the village of Eggares. Lying on a fertile plain traversed by two rivers, Eggares is the island’s main supplier of produce and a truly blessed place. Of course agriculture in Greece is tied to the cultivation of olive trees and the production of olive oil and that is exactly what we are going to take a closer look at through a visit to the village’s olive press museum. This traditional olive press dates back to 1884, however some locals will claim it has been around since the beginning of the 19th century. You will get to see the tools that were used at the time and learn about the process of manual olive oil extraction that has been in use for millennia, and now belongs to the past. Having learnt everything about olive oil it is now time to use it!

Situated on the same plain as Eggares is the nearby village of Galini (meaning “serenity”) where we will set out on a gastronomic quest with the help of our host and teacher,

Mrs Voula( a local woman who is happy to share her cooking knowledge). The first step to making a great dish is picking out the ingredients and what ingredients would be better than the home-grown fruits, vegetables and herbs found in our host’s own authentic organic farm. You have the chance to see where organic products grow and have a real taste of cultivation and farming. Having assembled everything, we are going to create a traditional Naxian dish from scratch! Enjoy!

Day 6

This day we will do a blend of history and tastes tour.

Naxos Town offers the ideal synthesis of past and present for the traveler to connect with the true character of the island – its rich historical past and current gastronomic traditions.

Our story begins at the Temple of Apollo (Portara) with the narration about the island’s first inhabitants and the mythology that shaped their presence. We continue to an on-site excavation museum and unto the top of the Venetian Castle area where a great art collection of pre –historic Cycladic figurines will complete the island’s cultural frame. From the historical port to the crowning castle, the Venetian Old Town with its quaint alleyways -where the food market is awake- passing by colourful fruit stands and stalls with aromatic herbs and spices, we invite travellers to enjoy sampling of local delicacies including a variety of fine, local Naxian cheeses with a glass of wine and a variety of phyllo snacks. The food tour is filled with the promise of more traditional mezes and local delights with delightful sensations of Naxian gastronomy at a traditional taverna where we all experience the tastes of the island at a hospitable table!

Day 7

Departure transfer to the port. Ferry to Folegandros.

Upon arrival in Folegandros, meet and transfer to your hotel.

Day 8

Discover Folegandro's heartland and have a unique experience. Folegandros original pathways lead us to beautiful beaches and at the same time we have the opportunity to visit the typical chapels and the unique lemon tree security “homes”.

Our walk comes to an end with a meal inour organic gardens made from products gathered in situ! And don’t forget that you will have already been introduced to Local Path’s donkeys – Rhea and Artemis.

Day 9

This day we will discover the island by a vehicle and experience the local cuisine and culture.

We will visit to the church of Panagia. The church of “Panagia” is one of the most famous sights of Folegandros. Apart from the religious and cultural interest of this guided tour, visitors enjoy the panoramic view that is

unforgettable. Then visit the Kastro (castle) of Hora, the main village. The uniqueness and authenticity of the castle of Folegandros combined with the particular architecture travel the visitor into another era. Proceed to the folklore museum or a Themonia. With this particular tour the visitors learn about the traditional way of life, of the

inhabitants of the island and the ways they devised in order to gain their everyday life. Visit to a traditional grocery in Ano Meria village for lunch. We will meet the local community and enjoy local flavors at a traditional grocery where an old lady cooks for us.

Day 10

Departure transfer to the port for the speed ferry to Paros.

Private arrival transfer in Paros.

Day 11

Climb into a private, air-conditioned deluxe vehicle and take off to explore the island. You will likely find a photo-worthy view around every corner. First stop: Paroikia, the capital of Paros, a beautiful Cycladic village with whitewashed cubic houses and impressive neoclassical mansions. A well-preserved 13th century Venetian castle stands proudly on a hill at the village center, offering an amazing view of Paroikia. Do not miss the chance to explore the famous Island landmark: the 6th century church of Panagia Ekatontapyliani. After your walking tour of the town, hop back in your private vehicle and start your exploration of other attractions. Route to Pounta port where you will take the local ferry boat to Antiparos island (duration 15mn). The enchanting atmosphere of Antiparos will seduce you as soon as you will arrive. White houses with a blue touch, narrow streets with bougainvillea and eucalyptus, an irresistible atmosphere of good vibrations. Walking tour of Chora (main town) in the main market street until the Kastro, a marvel of architecture made from two story houses adjoined one to another, a typical example of Venetian architecture. Ferry back to Paros and route to Piso Livadi, a small fisherman village. The prefect place to enjoy a meal in a traditional tavern by the sea and taste fresh fishes and sea food. After your lunch visit of Lefkes: the ancient capital of the island, one of the loveliest villages of Paros. Situated in the central part of Paros, it is built at an altitude of 300 meters above the sea level, on a verdant hill covered with olive trees and pine trees and offers a breathtaking view of Naxos Island. Relax and taste a Greek coffee in a traditional kafenio a key component of Greek culture! Then time to discover Naoussa, a colorful fisherman village. Explore its traditional character and its charm, with its whitewashed and flowered little houses and its tiny, whitewashed churches and chapels, surrounded by labyrinth-like narrow, stone paved streets. After this full day full of new sights, sounds and experiences, we will transfer you back to your hotel or to the port to relax and remember the beauty of Paros.

Day 12

Departure transfer to the airport for your flight back to Athens.

Connect to your international flight back home.

Perfect trip to Skopelos and Athens with walking tour of Athens

Anastasia at Antelope Travel organized an amazing trip that for us - we postponed it over 20 years and the trip planned with Anastasia lived up to the expectations.

We knew we were going to fly from the UK to Skiathos as we wanted to spend time on Skopelos. While I usually do all of our travel planning personally, we decided to give a travel agency a try at the recommendation of a friend. Everything was so simple and went so smoothly, with transportation arranged from plane and ferry to hotels, a car arranged while on Skopelos brought to the hotel, transportation from the ferry at Agios Konstantinos to Athens by Iannis, who was both a very friendly driver, and very knowledgeable, with recommendations and history information as he drove.

While in Athens we took the 5 hour walking tour of the Acropolis and museum led by Maria. She knew a few days in advance we needed to leave an hour earlier than planned and made sure we were in line just as the Acropolis opened, saving us hours of wait time. Without her knowledge both the site and the museum could have been overwhelming, but instead we felt like we understood both the ancient nature of the site, and the current archeological situation. She was outstanding.

The entire trip went without a hitch, and was simple so all we had to do was relax on the island and enjoy the sites in Athens. The hotels were lovely with great breakfasts. I would book with Antelope again the next time we go to Greece, they made it all so easy.

Best Honeymoon Ever!!

We took a 10day honeymoon to Athens, Mykonos and santorini and everything was planned perfectly. The itinerary included amazing excursions such as a sailing cruise, caldera hike, tour of the acropolis etc. They were all great and the people working were all so nice. We felt like VIP’s the entire trip. Drivers were planned for us, boarding passes sent to us before the flights. The entire trip was stress free and we had someone in each location to talk to if we had questions. I will 100% be recommending Antelope travel to all my friends and family. Thank you!!!
