Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1 (ALEXANDRIA ARRIVAL TRANSFER)
On arrival at Alexandria Airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for the next two nights. You will be staying at the Sofitel Cecil in the centre of Alexandria. This hotel is a charming hotel, was built in the 1920s and is now fully modernised, but keeps with the old world charm of the city. It is the perfect location to explore this town on your own. The rest of the day is yours to do as you please, exploring the city around you. Dinner for the evening is provided at the nearby Fish Market Restaurant.
Day 2 (ALEXANDRIA CITY TOUR)
Today you will discover the amazing city of Alexandria and all it has to offer. After breakfast, you will be collected for your tour of the city. This is one of the most ancient cities of the region. Travelling in luxury air conditioned coach you will be taken to the main sites. Of particular note, the tour includes a visit to the famous Alexandria Library, one of the oldest libraries in the world and holding nearly two thousand years of books and knowledge. The tour then proceeds to the National Museum and the catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, an ancient and superbly preserved burial site from over two thousand years ago. This tour is a fascinating look at Ancient Egypt. After the tour you will be returned to your hotel to enjoy the rest of the day. The concierge can also suggest other small trips around the city that may take your interest. The Monty's Bar in the hotel lobby is a great place to relax and enjoy a drink.
Day 3 (FLIGHT TO SHARM EL SHEIKH)
After breakfast you will check out of the Sofitel Cecil and our driver will transfer you to the Alexandria Airport for your short flight to the Red Sea city of Sharm El Sheikh. On arrival at your destination, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to the Marriott Red Sea Resort. Here you will spend the next four nights here relaxing at this luxurious resort. Located at Naama Bay in the heart of the city the hotel is a five star experience second to none. The property is divided with a beach side resort, complete with private beach as well as a newer mountain side complex. The resort also has bars and restaurants on site. All of the rooms are air conditioned and have private bathroom facilities, a balcony or terrace, satellite television, high speed internet and a mini bar. Non smoking rooms are available on request. Now is your opportunity to relax and unwind, whether you take yourself down to the beach or sit by the pool.
Day 4 (SHARM EL SHEIKH)
There are no planned activities on your itinerary on day four of the package, but this fact does not preclude you from making the best of this amazing location. The scuba diving in and around the city is some of the best in the world and the hotel can help you arrange to dive local sites or possibly take your PADI certificates in a nearby dive school. More experienced divers can take trips out to the beautiful nearby reef of Ram Umm Sidd. The region, being so near the desert can offer excursions to go camel or quad bike riding. Tours to visit the local Bedouins are also highly recommended. Staying closer to the hotel, the water sports on offer are world class. In the evening, the city's restaurants cater for all tastes and there is a thriving nightlife in the clubs around the town.
Day 5 (SHARM EL SHEIKH)
Day five is another day for you to do as you please. Relaxing by the amazing pool complex or on the private beach is a valid option, as is taking another scuba or snorkelling trip. You might like to ask the hotel about taking a cultural tour to a place near Sharm El Sheikh. Trips to Mount Sinai and other major sites such as Colour Canyon are in the region can be arranged with the hotel. The other option is to discover the old town, visiting the Old Market where you can experience Egypt at its most authentic. This day is yours to do as little or as much as you want.
Day 6 (GLASS BOTTOMED BOAT CRUISE)
After breakfast you will be collected from the hotel to enjoy and excursion on a glass bottomed boat. Leaving the dock you will be taken out of Naama Bay out to the coral beds named the Near and Far Gardens, where you can witness the amazing coral formations of the Red Sea. Some of the largest and most colourful coral formations are found here. Your English speaking guide will provide a commentary and give answers to any questions about the reef you may have. You will be returned to the hotel to enjoy the rest of the day as you please. This is your last evening at the resort so make it a night to remember.
Day 7 (FLIGHT BACK HOME)
After breakfast you will check out of the Marriott Red Sea and be collected by our transfer driver. There you will be taken to the airport to check in for your flight to your final destination.
