Day 1 A four hours tour to Fira and the Museum
Fira, Santorini Arriving at Fira you will walk a few feet along the narrow cobblestone streets to the Archaeological Museum. The Museum of "Prehistoric Thera" as it is called, houses artifacts from various excavations from all over the island but especially from the excavations at Akrotiri such as the famous wall paintings. Also, noteworthy among the numerous exhibits from the period when the city of Akrotiri was at its zenith, are the plaster casts of furniture, the household equipment, the bronze vessels, tools and weapons. The exhibition endeavors to sketch the course of Thira in prehistoric times, through selected finds. Your tour will then take you to the picturesque village of Oia. Once a major fishing harbor, it is now the calmest place on the island. Built high up on the ridge of red rocks, it offers breathtaking views of the blue Aegean. You will then take a stroll around the narrow streets among the old beautiful houses and the tiny picturesque shops.
