Day 1 GET TO KNOW CHANIA
Our tour begins with a scenic drive to the Akrotiri peninsula for a visit to the historic Monastery of Agia Triada Tzagarolon. Built in the 17th century, this impressive monastery sits amid lush olive groves and tall cypress trees and features a remarkable cruciform church. You will also explore the monastery’s cellars and discover their exceptional organic olive oil and wine production.
We then continue with a short photo stop at the Venizelos Monument, offering a panoramic view over Chania Bay.
Returning to Chania, we’ll enjoy a leisurely walk through the enchanting old quarters and harbor. Once enclosed by Venetian fortifications—of which the eastern and western sections remain—this area is a tapestry of colorful neighborhoods rich in history and local culture.
Your walking tour will highlight Chania’s most important landmarks as well as charming hidden corners that showcase the blend of influences shaping the town’s unique character. We will also stop for refreshments and a delicious local treat.
