Day 1 Athens – Corinth Canal – Epidaurus – Nauplia – Mycenae – Olympia
Departing from Athens, we travel west along the stunning coastline to the Corinth Canal, a marvel of engineering offering breathtaking views (short stop). This canal connects the western Mediterranean to the eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea, playing a vital role in international sea transport.
We continue along the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf to visit Epidaurus, home to the famous ancient theater. Renowned for its exceptional acoustics, the theater allowed 12,000 spectators to hear unamplified voices from the stage.
Next, we head to Nauplia, Greece's first capital in 1829 (short stop), before continuing to Mycenae, the legendary kingdom of Agamemnon. This palatial center of the Late Bronze Age, described by Homer as "rich in gold," represents one of the greatest civilizations of Greek prehistory, the Mycenaean civilization.
In the afternoon, we journey to Olympia. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
