Itinerary
Day 1VISIT MYCENAE, OVERNIGHT NAFPLION
Your journey begins in Athens, heading west along the picturesque coastline until you reach the Corinth Canal, a marvel of engineering with stunning views (short stop). This iconic canal, spanning 6,343 meters in length, connects the western Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas to the eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea. With a minimum width of 24.6 meters at sea level and a depth of 8 meters, it is a vital passage for international sea transport.
Continue along the scenic coastal road of the Saronic Gulf to Mycenae for a guided visit. Known as “Rich in Gold,” Mycenae was the legendary kingdom of Agamemnon and a significant hub of the Late Bronze Age. Immortalized by Homer, it represents one of the most influential civilizations of Greek prehistory, the Mycenaean era.
Next, travel to Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece in 1829. Enjoy a guided walking tour of this charming city before checking in at your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Nafplio.
Day 2Nafplion & Return to Athens
Spend the morning at your leisure in Nafplio, exploring its vibrant streets or relaxing in its historic ambiance. In the afternoon, depart for your return journey to Athens.
