This twelve day island hopping package takes you to the amazing Ionian Islands, islands of a very different, dramatic flavour. You have the option to hire a car on these islands or make the most of your time relaxing. These islands have a great deal to offer the independent traveller.

Day 1

On arrival at Athens Airport you will be met by our English speaking driver and taken to your hotel by modern, air conditioned car. The rest of the day is yours to do as you please. If you arrive early in the day, we suggest you make your way to the Plaka, at the base of the Acropolis where you can find an exciting number of restaurants, bars and shops. Find some dinner in any one of the many tavernas and international restaurants that line the bustling streets.

Day 2

After breakfast, you will be picked up in an air conditioned coach for you half day guided tour of Athens. Our English speaking guide will show you around the best of ancient and Modern Athens. Visit Syntagma Square to watch the traditionally dressed guards guard nearby Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Visit the Olympic Stadium, home of the Modern Olympic Games. After witnessing the amazing Temple of Zeus, be guided around the Acropolis, the crown of Athens, with its wonderful mix of ruins. You will marvel at the Parthenon that sits tall over Athens. The Acropolis Museum is also included in the tour and is well worth a visit. You will be returned to your hotel early in the afternoon and the rest of the day is yours to wander this miraculous city. A trip to the National Archaeological Museum is a wonderful way to find out more about the history of this amazing country. Have dinner at a local restaurant, experiencing the traditional food and wine that the country is so well known for.

Day 3

After breakfast you will check out of your Athens hotel and our transfer driver will collect you and take you to the airport for your domestic flight to Corfu. On arrival at Corfu airport, our representative will collect you and transfer you to your hotel. You will be spending the next three days on this green and busy island. We highly recommend that you hire a car on the island as there is so much to see and do. The next three days are yours to make the most of your time here. Corfu or Kerkyra as it is known to the locals, is a thriving island, green, busy and full of life. Being nearer to Italy there are some marked differences in the life and culture of the locals. This is an island to be enjoyed to the maximum.

Day 4

On waking, have some breakfast and think about how you wish to enjoy your time on Corfu. You may choose to spend your time by the hotel pool, relaxing, swimming and watching the view of the sea, or you may choose to explore the island. Corfu has a very different feel to the rest of the Greek Islands, being more to the North, it receives more rain and is therefore a greener island. Also being in the Adriatic Sea the town has the feel of an Italian village rather than a traditional Greek Island town. Enjoy the regional food, which is has a more European flavour than traditional Greek food. Corfu Town is wonderful to wander day and night - it has a charming vibe and the Venetian feel is sure to delight all the senses.

Day 5

The best of Corfu can be seen when you leave Corfu Town and travel to the further reaches of the island. Although Corfu is a premiere tourist island it manages to keep much of its tradition. Whether you hire a car and make your way to inland where the wildflower grow and the tree-lined roads make for wonderful driving, or head for the coast where the beaches have the reputation of being some of the best in Europe, it is all up to you. Other options could have you shopping in the wonderful markets or enjoying a frappe and an ice cream by the waterfront. Enjoy your last evening on the island with a meal in any one of the many international standard restaurants.

Day 6

After breakfast, you will say goodbye to Corfu. Our driver will pick you up and transfer you from your hotel to the port to catch the floatplane to Lefkada. Upon arrival in Lefkada, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. You will be spending two nights on this island. Lefkada has a very different feel to it than Corfu. Like Corfu it is a large, green island, however it is far less populated and the locals are very proud of the island's heritage and traditions. The island is also unique in that it is joined to the mainland by a causeway just outside of Lefkada mainland. The road leads to the north west of the Peloponnese. Use your days here to relax and enjoy the quieter pace of life.

Day 7

Wandering around Lefkada Town you will notice that the houses are very different to the rest of the country. Lefkada has been ravaged by earthquakes over time and the locals have built the top storeys of their houses out of colourful sheet metal. Lefkada will be a complete change of pace. Now is the time to relax, wander the towns, enjoy the pristine beaches and discover a very different side to the Greek Islands. For the more adventurous, you may be able to hire a boat and visit the small islands to the south of Lefkada, including Skorpios, home to the Onassis family.

Day 8

After breafkast, you will be picked up and transferred to the port to catch the ferry to Zante. Upon arrival in Zante, our representative will pick you up to transfer you to your hotel. You will be spending three nights on Zante - also known as Zakynthos. As with Corfu, you may wish to hire a car to make sure that you see the very best of what this unique island has to offer.

Day 9

Zante is known for it's beaches and it's beauty. Like the other Ionian Islands it is well forested, lush, green and a tourist's haven. It is also easy to get away from the crowds. Zante is also home to the Mediterannean Monk Seal and the Loggerhead Turtle. Although both animals are facing extinction, it is possilbe to see these remarkable creatures from the shores. Zante is also the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Zante Town has a very European feel, with its wide streets, winding arcades and large squares. It is a great place to wander in the early evening, where you can find a decent meal and taverna to dance the night away.

Day 10

Hiring a car while on Zante can help you see the best of the island. Possibly the most photographed and famous beach resides in the island's west, where the famous shipwreck beach can be found. Access to this beach is by boat only. There is a Blue Grotto in the island's north that is also worth a visit. There are also plenty of beaches dotted around the island to visit, or you can wander south, to Laganas Beach which is the traditional home to the turtles. As this is your last day on the islands, you may wish to sit by the pool and relax in your hotel or enjoy a nearby beach. The time is yours to enjoy.

Day 11

After breakfast, our representative will pick you up and transfer you to the airport to catch the flight to Athens. Upon arrival in Athens airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in the city centre for a one night stay. As this is your last night in Athens it is the perfect opportunity to do some last minute souvenir shopping in the Plaka or take a night tour of Athens, seeing the city in a very different light. Enjoy a final dinner at any one of Athens traditional or international restaurants.

Day 12

After breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and our transfer driver will pick you up and transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home.

Perfect trip to Skopelos and Athens with walking tour of Athens

Anastasia at Antelope Travel organized an amazing trip that for us - we postponed it over 20 years and the trip planned with Anastasia lived up to the expectations.

We knew we were going to fly from the UK to Skiathos as we wanted to spend time on Skopelos. While I usually do all of our travel planning personally, we decided to give a travel agency a try at the recommendation of a friend. Everything was so simple and went so smoothly, with transportation arranged from plane and ferry to hotels, a car arranged while on Skopelos brought to the hotel, transportation from the ferry at Agios Konstantinos to Athens by Iannis, who was both a very friendly driver, and very knowledgeable, with recommendations and history information as he drove.

While in Athens we took the 5 hour walking tour of the Acropolis and museum led by Maria. She knew a few days in advance we needed to leave an hour earlier than planned and made sure we were in line just as the Acropolis opened, saving us hours of wait time. Without her knowledge both the site and the museum could have been overwhelming, but instead we felt like we understood both the ancient nature of the site, and the current archeological situation. She was outstanding.

The entire trip went without a hitch, and was simple so all we had to do was relax on the island and enjoy the sites in Athens. The hotels were lovely with great breakfasts. I would book with Antelope again the next time we go to Greece, they made it all so easy.

Awesome experience.

We had 5 in our family of all ages for our recent trip to Greece. We wanted to see Athens, Mykonos and Santorini. I reached out to Anastasia with our budget and a rough idea of what we wanted to do. I cannot say enough about how helpful she was. She helped arrange the whole trip and everything flowed perfectly. She was also available during the trip to help guide us if we had questions about travel. It was a truly memorable experience without all the stress of when I try to plan trips myself. I wish I could use her for every trip I ever take.
