His diligent work exposed the famous Lions Gate, the entrance to the city which contains the shaft burial graves of some ancient nobles. Following lunch, proceed to Epidaurus known for its stunning ancient theater. One of the most important sanctuaries in the ancient world, Epidaurus was dedicated to the God of Medicine, Asklepios. The world-famous Theatre of Epidaurus, built in the 4th century B.C. is a marvel of harmony and acoustics and the best preserved ancient theater in Greece.
