Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Cairo

Once you arrive at Cairo Airport you will be met by our representative and taken in air conditioned comfort to your hotel to check in. You will be staying at the exclusive Grand Hyatt in Cairo for the next three nights, situated on the tip of Roda Island on the Nile. This hotel provides the modern visitor the very best that Egypt can deliver. The hotel facilities are world class, with its shopping and leisure centre, cinemas, private yacht and other world class facilities. The onsite restaurants are world class provide and number of Eastern and Western cuisines. The Grand Hyatt has over 700 luxury rooms with spectacular view of Cairo and the Nile. We suggest that once you have freshened up after your flight that you visit the Kahn el Khalili market, one of the biggest and most vibrant in markets in Cairo.
Day 2

Pyramids, Sphinx & Camel Ride

After breakfast you will be picked up at the hotel for your luxury privage tour of the Pyramids, a short distance out of Cairo. This is the highlight of your stay in Cairo visiting this remaining wonder of the ancient world, visiting the major sites as well as the Sphinx. Following your visit to the Pyramids you will enjoy a camel ride through the desert. Lunch is included at the Mena House restaurant, after which you will be returned to the Grand Hyatt late in the afternoon. The rest of the day is there for you to do as much or as little as you please. You could return to the markets to do more shopping or relax by the pool. There is much to enjoy in the busy and colourful city.
Day 3

Egyptian Museum & Islamic Cairo

Today will be spent touring the ancient and vibrant city of Cairo. Once you have had your breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel and taken to some of the major sites of the city in air conditioned luxury private vehicle. Your tour includes a visit to the amazing Egyptian Museum, home to the largest collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts in the world. You will also visit the Citadel, the Ibn Touloun Mosque, one of the world's most beautiful places of prayer and the tour comes to a close at the Abu el Seid restaurant. You will once again be returned to your hotel later in the afternoon, where the rest of the day is yours to do as you please.
Day 4

Fly to Aswan & Board the Prince Abbas

On checking out in the morning you will be transferred by our representative to Cairo airport, where you will board the plane for the short flight to Aswan in the South of Egypt. On arrival you will be transferred to the river port where you will board the Movenpick Prince Abbas for your three day cruise of the Southern Nile River and the Lake Nasser. This deluxe cruiser is a stylish and relaxing way to discover Lake Nasser. The boat has good range of facilities including 43 cabins, 18 junior suites and 4 royal suites. All rooms have an ensuite shower room, air conditioning, television, mini bar, safe deposit box and most importantly, a panoramic window allowing you to watch the world go by. All meals for the next three days will be taken on board in the boat's dining area. This day allows you to acclimatise to life on board the boat and relax. The boat will remain in Aswan overnight.
Day 5

Kalabsha Temple & Lake Nasser

Leaving Aswan the boat heads south. You will visit the Kalabsha Temples, a site that has been there for nearly as long as the Pyramids, after which we sail to Wadi ed Seboua. All meals will be had on board and a cocktail party is scheduled for this evening. This is a day to wonder at ancient civilisations and relax in luxury on the boat. The boat will spend the night at Wadi el Seboua.
Day 6

Valley of the Lions & Amada

Today sees you leaving the boat to visit the remarkable Wadi el Seboua Temples on the banks of Lake Nasser. Wadi el Seboua translates to the Valley of the Lions and the site is peppered with Sphinxes and ancient carvings. After this tour you will reboard the boat and sail to Amada. Here you will visit more temples and watch a Nubian Show. Amada Temple is located about 180 kilometres south of Aswan and it is also one of the rescued temples from the waters of the Lake Nasser after the building of the high dam. The boat will remain in Amada for the evening.
Day 7

Kasr Ibrim & Abu Simbel

Today is your last full day on the Prince Abbas Cruise. You will first sail to Kasr Ibrim, which is an archeological site in Lower Nubia. It was originally a major city perched on a cliff above the Nile, but the flooding of Lake Nasser after the construction of the Aswan High Dam transformed it into an island and flooded its outskirts. Kasr Ibrim is the only major archaeological site in Lower Nubia to have survived the Nile floods. Both prior to and after the Nile floods, it has remained a major site for archaeological investigations. After this, you will visit the Abu Simbel Temple after viewing it from the boat. These twin temples are now UNSECO world heritage site. Located on the river near the Sudan border, this is as far south as we go. You will tour the temples and watch a sound and light show *optional*. The boat will remain in Abu Simbel for the evening.
Day 8

Fly Back to Cairo

In the morning you will check out of the Prince Abbas cruise and our representative will transfer you to the local airport where you will check onto an internal flight to Cairo. Here you will catch your flight back to your final destination.
