Enjoy the Cretan countryside by melting with local people and habits!
The tour starts with an exploration of the province of Apokoronas, where villages preserve a special traditional color and life continues in a relaxed and friendly way.
The region offers spots of great natural beauty and interesting drives off of the main highway. Stops will include the village of Gavalochori with its fine Folklore Art Museum and the village of Vamos for a walk in its older part to view traditional stone houses and coffee stop at a typical "kafenion". We will then drive to Chania, for our specially designed tour around the old town and Venetian port. Our walk will allow you to visit the most important sites, such as the Archaeological Museum, the Venetian fortifications, the Arsenals, the 1860 Greek Orthodox Cathedral, the 1879 Roman Catholic cathedral, the Etz Hayyim Synagogue, and the Turkish quarters behind the inner harbour. The tour will also bring out plenty of hidden spots off the beaten track, which reflect the eclectic mix of influences that has given Chania its very unique atmosphere.
After lunch at a quaint tavern in the alleys, there will be time at leisure for you to stroll around.
