Day 1 A deeper experience of cultural practices and flavors

A journey through charming villages, engaging with residents to learn about their traditions and way of life. Savor authentic local flavors as you sample traditional products, and experience the breathtaking sights and sounds of nature that define the beautiful island of Naxos. Our exploration starts with the picturesque village of Damalas, where the time-honored craft of pottery comes to life in a traditional workshop. Observe the skilled ceramist as they skillfully mold and shape clay into stunning works of art, showcasing techniques passed down through generations.

Next, wandering through lush landscapes, we arrive in Halki, set in a fertile plateau and adorned with elegant neoclassical mansions. We will visit Vallindras Distillery, the birthplace of the now-famous liqueur “Kitron.” We will learn all about the production process-from tree cultivation to fruit distillation methods—and will enjoy a tasting of one of the three PDO liqueurs in Greece. We continue our journey to the serene Naxian countryside, heading towards Kaloxylos, a charming village that remains off the beaten path and free from mass tourism. We will have a great opportunity to stop by, a century-old olive press for a presentation and tasting of olive oil.Sample a carefully curated selection of premium local olive oils, each showcasing unique flavor profiles and characteristics.

Our last destination is the mountain village of Apiranthos, renowned for its breathtaking beauty and rich cultural heritage. Stroll along its marble-paved alleys, where each step reveals stunning views and the unique character of the village. A delightful combination of Naxian tastes paired with a glass of local wine, will serve as the perfect ending to our tour."
